Location

LU 9 is located in the depression on the ulnar side of the abductor pollicis longus between the styloid process of radius and the scaphoid. It is the yuan-source point of the hand taiyin lung channel, where the source qi flows.

Function

LU 9 is good at supplementing the lung qi deficiency pattern, and also can enrich and nourish the lung yin. Besides, it can treat various types of pulmonary diseases, such as cough, hemoptysis, panting, etc. LU 9 is a key point when taking the pulse in TCM. We refer to “taking cunkou alone”, and cunkou is the place where LU 9 is located.
